Saint Mary's is a Crusader's church situated in the Judean Hills in the heart of the Muslim village Abu Ghosh. This church is associated with Emmaus where Jesus makes himself know to his disciples by the breaking of bread. This area is also thought to be Amwas, the Emmaus of the Maccabean uprising. Beautiful tropical landscaping surround this impressive structure.
Inside the church bright fresco's adorn the walls and naves. Most of the faces were removed during a period of time that the church was used as a mosque.
