Palm Sunday

Lots of Scout groups from all over the Holy Land came to Celebrate the Christian Palm Sunday.

Lots of security, although the parade seemed a little disorganized to me.

The percession entered the old city through Lions Gate also known as Saint Stephens Gate.

Along the top of the wall above the cemetery you can see the people coming over the top of the Mount of Olives.  They start in Bethany the home of Mary, Martha and Lazarus. Bethany is just on the other side of the Mount of Olives where Christ stayed during the last week of His life.

Here comes the percession down the Mount of Olives

Just before the percession came into view a group of Orthodox Jews walked by.

My favorite part--the mounted police.  Beautiful horses.

I am not sure the meaning of this??  We even saw a little kid dressed in a pumpkin outfit, I was a little confused.

Just outside of Bethlehem is a Beit Sahour.  Our District RS president Sahar is from this town.  Her family descends from the Palestinian Christians that live here.

Palms waving to welcome Christ during his Triumphal Entry.

I just really like this poster and wanted it to show up somewhere in the blog, enjoy!
