This site is on top of a mountain with a fabulous view. This is a "traditional" site for the grave of the Prophet Samuel. He was more likely buried in Ramah. Looking to the South you could see the three towers around Jerusalem. Supposedly from the church tower (we couldn't go into it because the roof is unsafe) you can see parts of Jerusalem and the Mount of Olives.
The mosque is built on top of the Crusaders ruins.
Here is the city of Ramallah in the West Bank.
TThis was the most interesting thing inside the mosque. I think it shows where to pray toward Mecca. It was not in good repair. I love that blue-green color. It reminds me of 'naturally' colored eggs.
This view north ward not only shows Ramallah but is the tribal land of Benjamin.
On our way home we stopped on top of another mountain with great views. In the 1960s King Hussein of Jordan started building this nice little palace to hang out at. Unfortunately it was never completed due to his swift departure after the 67 war.
